Labor Day Weekend

We had an excellent Labor Day weekend in Chicago.  Friends and family celebrated at our barbecue on Saturday, and Annika spent two days at the swimming pool.  Andy, Bubbe, and I also went to the Cubs-Astros game on Monday, and we saw the Kings (Andy’s friends from college).

Ben’s Going-Away Brunch

Today started out great…the USA basketball team beat Spain in a thrilling game marked by great offense. Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant starred for Team USA, while Rudy Fernandez and Juan Carlos Navarro were unstoppable for Spain. I’m glad football season is coming up soon, because my basketball jones goes into effect now.

Emily and I went to the Port Clinton Art Fair today, and then joined the family for brunch.

Cousin Ben will be going away to a year-long program to Israel in less than two weeks. Ben will be studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem for one semester and then working on a kibbutz for the other semester. Ben will be involved in this program before he starts at Harvard next year. Go Ben! The Philipsons, Zadie Jerry, and the Nohes celebrated at Bubbe and Zadie’s house.
Here is Ben with Gideon; next time we see Ben, Giddy will look much different!.
As always, Mira did a great job playing with Annika.
